Vet Ranch: We’re gonna fix them all!

In the first of a new series, we profile some of the best YouTube content creators and channels for cat owners. The series kicks off with a look at Vet Ranch, a non-profit organisation working with rescued pets.

Warning: Some of the content in these videos is not for the faint-hearted. There are some very poorly animals shown, as well as details of surgical procedures, and some of the cases can initially be very upsetting. However, the work they do is simply wonderful, and the transformation the animals go through is incredible and uplifting.

From the Vet Ranch website:

Vet Ranch is dedicated to providing medical treatment to homeless animals that would otherwise have no advocate. Our team works diligently to rehabilitate abused, abandoned and homeless animals so that they are able to be adopted into loving forever homes. We work closely with many animal rescues and shelters to decrease the number of animals that are euthanized due to treatable and/or curable conditions.

Vet Ranch videos feature cases on animals that are brought into the clinic, who may otherwise have been put down. Founded in 2014 by Dr. Matt Carriker, the medical treatment for Vet Ranch animals is funded completely by contributions made by subscribers and the public. Once the animal is healthy enough they go on to find a foster or forever home.

The work done by Vet Ranch is informative and inspirational, and as heart-wrenching as the stories are, it’s great to see the transformation as the animals are treated and become healthy and happy. This also shows the amazing power of social media, and how through YouTube they’re able to fund and continue to do amazing work for sick animals.
